The Obereggerhof farm lies in the picturesque, green Vals Valley. With us, humans and animals live in harmony with each other, and we produce a variety of products ourselves. In the middle of the forest, just above the farm, is a small waterfall – a great place to relax and have a picnic. Our farm is suitable for families as well as for a quiet getaway for two. At the end of the valley is the most beautiful Alpine pasture in South Tyrol, the Fane Alpine Pasture with the Wilde Kreuzspitz mountain and its 3,132 m (approx. 10,275 ft) high peak as a backdrop. Despite the quiet locale, the Roman Catholic dioceses city of Brixen is just 20 minutes by car and Bruneck is just 25.

Our farm is rated with four flowers. They stand for high-quality facilities, the experience of authentic farm life, and numerous homemade products.

The Obereggerhof farm was completely updated in 2009 using state-of-the-art climate control guidelines and retaining the wooden construction. The wood even came from our own forest. The farm’s own wood chip plant provides for comfortable and environmentally sound heat. We have a charging station for your electric vehicle directly on our farm and photovoltaic cells on the roof. All our apartments are non-allergenic and non-smoking. Our special place allows you to spend your vacation on a very South Tyrolean farm in the middle of its nature, in complete harmony with nature.

Our housemates

The Obereggerhof farm is the caring home of many animals: Calves, sheep, rabbits, cats and chickens live with us on the farm. Our four ponies Nora, Felix, Nina and Flocke love to explore the area around our farm. If you want, you can take part when own Stefan Gasser milks the cows every morning and evening at that Braundornerhof farm. The cattle farm is also owned by the Gasser Family and just a ten minute drive from the Obereggerhof. Richard, the neighbor to Obereggerhof, has goats. Guests can visit him in the evening when he's milking or buy goat cheese from his small shop. Your pet is also welcome in some of our apartments on arrangement.

Home-grown farm produce

Early in the morning, guests enjoy fresh raw milk, self-pressed natural apple juice and warm rolls and typical bread as well as our own jams. The fruit spreads on the table vary seasonally from raspberry and strawberry jams to pear and apricots jams. Even the savory delicacies such as straight-from-the-nest eggs or the Tyrolean bacon and a variety of cheeses have distinctive tastes. In the product nook you'll find small keepsakes to take home as well as herb salts and natural apple juice.

South Tyrol's secluded hiking and walking trails invite you to get out in the fresh mountain air; bike trips lead to quaint inns. A romantic highlight is a horse drawn carriage ride through the colorful autumn and spring landscapes. The Acquarena in Brixen offers couples a cuddly excursion at the sauna and pool. Our Hydrosoft sauna cabin made of genuine Swiss pine wood for 2 people offers a new feeling of well-being and warmth directly at the farm.

In traditional South Tyrolean mountain farms, the "Stube" called lounge has always been and remains the heart of the home. For generations, it has served as a meeting point and has always been the friendliest room. Here, everyday conversations of farm life took place, a life entirely devoted to family and work. In winter, women knitted various woolen garments in the lounge.

Here at Obereggerhof, we also have such a fine "Stube". It's a genuine meeting point for you as our guests, a space to relax and indulge in conversations with family and friends over a glass of wine, a good coffee, or a cup of tea. Here, experiences and happy moments encountered during the day in this untouched nature are shared – and more: perhaps even some friendships may blossom, who knows?

Additionally, you'll find an extensive selection of magazines and books here (most of the in German). We are a family-friendly farm, so we have a large collection of games for our young guests.
